Some accounts that you were downloading automatically via One Step Update in another version of Quicken may get set to a lower level of connectivity (Web Connect file download) during the file conversion process.

However, if you've been using manual entry accounts and want to try downloading, if you've converted from Quicken Windows or Quicken 2007 for Mac, or if you've experienced problems and had to disable downloads for one or more accounts you may need to set up an existing account for automatic download. Investment accounts didn't transfer over using that method but banking and credit cards did.By default, Quicken will attempt to set up transaction download when you add a new account or financial institution (see also Adding accounts).

Quicken for Windows won't directly import Quicken 2007 data, but I converted the 2007 data using the current Quicken for Mac product and then imported that file into Quicken for Windows. It doesn't seem to do a perfect job of it, but it's a start.Īs far as alternative financial management apps, I've come to the very reluctant conclusion that Quicken for Windows running on a VM will be my solution. But I recently discovered that current Quicken for Mac can convert your data. I was despondent over the fact that I have decades of financial data in Quicken 2007 that couldn't be migrated to current Quicken. IMO, one of the most glaring deficiencies is the inability to include transfers in your budget. In fairness, the current Mac product is slowly getting better but it's still not there. Everything since then has ranged from unusable (original "Quicken for Mac") to half a loaf (the current Quicken for Mac 2020). Quicken 2007 is the last fully-featured version. But we were living on borrowed time.Īgreed. October came and went and downloads kept working. However, please note that due to an unrelated security and reliability update in October, the ability to download transactions will no longer work in Quicken 2007, regardless of your macOS version. Of course, it still works if you have pre-Catalina MacOS. Quicken sent out an email in August of last year that was mostly about Quicken 2007 compatibility with newer versions of MacOS (Catalina and beyond). I had no idea this obsolescence had been announced.

FWIW, I'm forced to use version 5.x because Apple prevents me from using up-to-date OS versions on my older MacBook Pro and 5.x is the latest Banktivity that works. However, and very frustratingly for me, it skips about 30% of the downloaded transactions! I'm working with them on this but this is not a promising start. Easily and intelligently matches newly downloaded transactions with your earlier entries, such as with bill payments. Banktivity is very pretty, all-standard Mac interface. I communicated a number of problems with them and never got all of them resolved. Short version: Moneydance is ugly with some thrown-together cross-platform interface and has lots of problems. This is terrible news if true.Ĭoincidentally, I haven been evaluating other Mac banking apps. Same problem here, OL-209 while trying to download new transactions from Chase Bank with Quicken 2007 for Mac.
